Card of the Day 3/17

4th N 20 / NCL

When this card is sent to the ashtray, each player loses 50 pounds

Captain MJ (STASH 3 / SATIVA CB)

Happy Friday Stonerds!  Today we’ve got a solid utility CannaBeast released with the 4th & 20 / NCL set, Captain MJ.  Captain MJ is a stash 3 Sativa CannaBeast that deducts 50 pounds from each player when sent to the ashtray.  Having a base attack and defense of 50 this isn’t a CannaBeast that’s going to be anything remotely formidable, even in a Sativa stash with 3 Boosters on the field it will only be buffed up to 140 attack and defense.

Captain MJ works best in conjunction with Cheer Buds.  At the cost of 100 pounds each Cheer Buds lets you bring up to 2 other Captain MJs from your stash onto the field giving you the potential to play several CannaBeasts in one turn to fill your field out enough out to be able to tribute for a Moon Rock or other multi-tribute beast with much greater ease.  Be careful when doing this if you aren’t in the lead, bringing 2 Captain MJs out and then tributing all 3 of them will cost you 350 pounds.

With the right combination of cards this also gives you the potential to get 4 CannaBeasts on the field in the same turn.

Ideal Scenario: Player 1 has a Captain MJ on the field at the start of their turn.

Player 1 plays Cheer Buds, paying 200 pounds to bring 2 more Captain MJs from their stash to the field.  Player 1 then plays Relighting Roach bringing a card back from the ashtray to the field.  Player 1 is now free to plant another CannaBeast.

Captain MJ: Pairs well with

Any tribute CannaBeast.

Booster: As long as this card remains on the field, all Sativa CannaBeasts that you control on the field gain 30 attack and 30 defense. (Nutrient, Stash 3)

Cheer Buds: While you have a Captain MJ card on your side of the field, add up to 2 more from your stash or hand to your side of the field. Decrease your pounds by 100 for each Captain MJ added to the field. (Ambush, Stash 1)

Thanks Cannafam! Stay Stoney!
